Virtual ADR - The MARS Virtual ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Conference seeks to emulate, as closely as possible, the traditional Mediation or Arbitration conference. It provides a real time video and audio environment to offer mediators, arbitrators, attorneys and other legal practitioners the opportunity carry on mediation and arbitration conferences using the latest state-of-the-art videoconferencing technology combined with our proprietary Case Management System. In this way we create a unique environment, very similar to traditional conferences, saving time, travel expenses and reducing costs, right from your desk, without having to leave your office.
An Online Dispute Resolution program provides merchants and consumers the opportunity to resolve
diputes, which may be caused by misunderstandings from online transations. These programs offer the
parties, access to a third party dispute resolution process, with an easy to use, inexpensive, automated,
online web based program.
Merchants that display the MARS "Shop with Confidence" Symbol on their website, indicate to customers
and potential customers, that if their internal customer service program fails to resolve a problem or
dispute, that they agree in advance to take part in a third party dispute resolution process. The symbol is
also known as a seal or trustmark.
The MARS "Shop with Confidence" Program includes a third party dispute resoluton process, with an easy
to use, inexpensive, automated, online web-based program. If you have a problem or dispute with a
merchant, which cannot be resolved through their internal customer service program, you will be able to file
a claim against the merchant using this program which will lead to the resolution of the problem or dispute.
If you have a problem or dispute with a merchant, and the merchant's Internal Customer Service Program
fails to resolve it, the merchant has agreed in advance to participate in the MARS "Shop with Confidence"
Program. The program is designed to use a third party dispute resolution process, to make sure you will
have a means to resolve this problem or dispute to your satisfaction.
If you have a problem or dispute with a merchant, which the merchants Internal Customer Service Program,
fails to resolve, you will click on the MARS "Shop with Confidence" symbol that is displayed on the
merchants website. This will take you to a certificate, which provides information about the merchants
company, provides information about the claim filing process and leads you to a Case Filing Form.
Once you have filed a case, the merchant will be notified by e-mail and asked to respond. There will be two
rounds of negotiation, via the MARS Case Management System on the MARS website. If the case is not
resolved by this negotiation process, a Mediator / Arbitrator will be assigned to the case. There will be two
rounds of Mediation, again via the MARS website, which should lead to the resolution of the case. If the
case is not reolved at this point, a binding resolution to the case will be handed down by the Mediator /

If the merchant does not display the MARS "Shop with Confidence" Symbol on their website and you want to file a claim, you can click on the "File a Complaint" link on the homepage of the MARS website, which will take you to information about the claim filing process and leads you to a Complaint Filing Form.
What am I agreeing to when I sign up for the MARS "Shop with Confidence" Program?
You are agreeing to:
That prior to filing claim, you will participate in the merchant's Internal Customer Service Program in order to resolve the problem or dispute.
That if you file a claim and participate in the Program, you will put forth your best effort to work with the merchant to resolve the problem or dispute.
Your participation in this program is VOLUNTARY. If, for any reason, you do not agree with the decision, you have the option to pursue other remedies in order to resolve the problem or dispute.
